About us

Allendale Community Housing is a community-owned company run according to Community Land Trust principles by a board of directors from the area, who donate their time free of charge. We work in partnership with other local organisations to identify opportunities for the development of affordable housing and workspaces in Allendale and the surrounding area.
As a Community Land Trust, we are eligible to obtain funding for such opportunities from grant-giving bodies such as Northumberland County Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.

Anyone who lives or works in Allendale or the surrounding area is welcome to become a member of Allendale Community Housing. There is no membership fee. You will be able to come to our monthly meetings and, if you want, take an active part in our plans for developing more affordable housing in the area. We are also very keen to work with other community organisations in the Allen Valleys. If your organisation shares our interests or would like to explore closer contact, please get in touch with David Harrison.

We very much regret that we have had to abandon the proposed Allenfields development because of insurmountable legal difficulties associated with the land transfer. (27 March 2014)
