What we plan to do

In the short term, we are looking at purchasing or leasing small plots of land in order to build a few more affordable properties. We expect to work with a housing management company who will be responsible for choosing the developer and managing the building contract and subsequent maintenance of the properties. Some finance for our involvement will come from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). Money from HCA is available only for developments which have a Community Land Trust as the primary landholder (freehold or very long leasehold).

We have provided input to the Allendale Neighbourhood Plan and will monitor proposals for proposed future housing developments in the parish, and will submit informed comment to the planning department of Northumberland County Council on the extent to which the proposed development meets the needs of local residents and is in conformance with the Allendale Neighbourhood Plan.
