Drachen Foundation

The Drachen Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation based in Seattle devoted to spreading knowledge about kites worldwide. Its main activities are

• developing workshops, curricula, and touring exhibits about the art, science, history, and cultures of kiting; supporting selected projects and special events;
• publishing books and an online journal and newsletter; operating a website;
• funding kite research globally;
• archiving kiting materials and kites;
• operating the Drachen Study Center in Seattle;
• selling original kite kits, publications, and materials through its online store.

During the period 1998–2007 the Foundation published a Journal originally in paper form and latterly only in electronic form. All the issues of the Journal are available for download from its extensive and interesting website www.drachen.org .
