Edo Kites
George Webster lent me an ancient photocopy of an anonymous article entitled “A Workingman’s Guide to the Edo”. It is signed “cw” and dated “jan93”. Neither he nor I were able to identify the author, but the content was, we thought, worth putting on the internet. (It’s not already there, I tried looking for it.) If “cw” would like to get in touch with me and is able to convince me that (s)he is indeed the author, then I will gladly provide proper acknowledgement here. Or if someone reliably knows who “cw” is (or was), then please let me know too.
The article is not concerned with the rich artictic heritage of Edo kite painting, about which indeed a book could be written, but with the Edo form and the basic principles of how to make an Edo.
